IT Sessions

Norbury Library offer IT One to One sessions each Tuesday morning. Mainly for people who are wanting to get in to using a computer whether it be starting from scratch, needing help to set up an email account, wanting to learn more about using Word or Excel and other topics as requested.

Never used a computer before, or just want a bit of a refresher, pop along to Norbury Library every Tuesday morning.

No gardening experience required - but please bring some
gloves, hat and water and any gardening tool you may have to hand. For

The coffee morning is being sponsored by The Local People Programme; a 2 year project (2015/16), funded by People's Health Trust, and focussed on an area of Norbury (including part of the SERA area) and Upper Norwood.
The programme has no specific outcomes; its aim being simply to help local people come together as a community to help improve their area.

Love Norbury 2015 A Year On

Love Norbury was launched last July in a splash of colour and music on the high street. Since then, many of you have been using your Love Norbury cards to support your local shops and are being kept informed about local events. Now we want to push on and achieve greater things in Norbury so we hope you are able to come along to this special re-launch event. We will be formally electing a committee, agreeing a constitution and considering our future plans.

If you share our commitment to Norbury and are prepared to give just a little of your time and skills to make a difference, please join us.

Your skills could just be the answer to helping with 'Love Norbury', so step forward and do not hide your talent's.
We would love to have you on board and together we can all Love Norbury a little more.

Join David Clark for a Local History Talk at Norbury Library on Saturday 27th June at Norbury Library starting at 11am.

The Talk will last one and a half hours featuring a Powerpoint presentation by Local Historian David Clark featuring 'A 1920's Tram Journey from Norbury to Streatham'
with views of the period and some of their historical background.

Join David Clarke On Sunday 28^th June. Meet at Norbury Station at 2pm. Duration: One and a half hours

Route: The walk will start from Norbury Station, crossing Norbury Park and Green Lane before walking along Gibsons Hill to the entrance of Norwood grove to enter and climb the hill to the ‘White House’. After passing the ‘White House’ on our right hand side you will follow the track way (1/4 mile) to the side entrance of Streatham Rookery. After a tour of the Rookery gardens you will exit it by the main entrance where there is a cafe for refreshments if needed, which is situated at the top of Streatham Common.

Enjoy living history and a lovely walk.

Norbury Green Residents' Association General Meeting

Guest speaker is Cllr Stuart Collins, Cabinet Member for Croydon Council with responsibility for the 'GREENER, CLEANER, CROYDON' initiative.

As always, everyone is welcome to join the Love Norbury team and members of the Norbury Residents' Associations to greet the veteran cars as they pass through Norbury. This year we promise something a bit special. Look for the gazebos at Recycle Your Cartridge, 1122 London Rd and The Norbury & Edge, 1300 London Rd.   You won't be able to miss us...  We can promise it will be well worth the early start!!

Please join the Tennis Club for their annual firework display and bonfire event.

Starting at 6pm it is only £2 per adult and £1 for under 16’s. Children under 6 are free.

As well as the magnificent fireworks and warming bonfire there will be lovely hot and cold drinks and snacks available to buy in the clubhouse.

An opportunity to tour the surgery and talk to staff.

Norbury Neighbourhood Policing Team event aimed at preventing cash point thefts and fraud offences in the area. This will also be an opportunity for you to meet the local team, discuss any concerns and to get some free crime prevention advice.

The purchasers of the former Norbury Police Station, Greencourt Property Group, wish to develop the site.  The developer, architecht and planning consultant will be present to answer questions and hear residents' views.  Drop in at any time between 4pm and 8pm.  (Note - this event is being run by the developer).

Fundraiser for Great Ormond Street Hospital.  A variety of cakes will be available to purchase, such as; carrot cake, chocolate cake, lemon, vanilla and non-dairy.  Organised by Nyreen S.

The event has been organised by the joint planning group of the 4 Norbury residents' associations.  Norbury is currently the subject of high levels of proposed development so this will be a chance to find out more and to discuss the current issues such as the proposed BMX track in Norbury Park, the Windor House and former Police Station developments and planning infringements on the high street.  Download a flyer here.
