Route: The walk will start from Norbury Station, crossing Norbury Park and Green Lane before walking along Gibsons Hill to the entrance of Norwood grove to enter and climb the hill to the ‘White House’. After passing the ‘White House’ on our right hand side you will follow the track way (1/4 mile) to the side entrance of Streatham Rookery. After a tour of the Rookery gardens you will exit it by the main entrance where there is a cafe for refreshments if needed, which is situated at the top of Streatham Common.

Norbury Neighbourhood Policing Team event aimed at preventing cash point thefts and fraud offences in the area. This will also be an opportunity for you to meet the local team, discuss any concerns and to get some free crime prevention advice.

The purchasers of the former Norbury Police Station, Greencourt Property Group, wish to develop the site.  The developer, architecht and planning consultant will be present to answer questions and hear residents' views.  Drop in at any time between 4pm and 8pm.  (Note - this event is being run by the developer).

Organised by Croydon Council Parks Dept.

The idea is to invite the local community to find out about proposals to improve facilities, have their say over a cup of tea, meet neighbours, groups and partnership organisations involved with the park.

Officers from the Parks Team and Resident Involvement Team will be present along with officers from the Neighbourhood Safety Team, Access Sport, Metropolitan Police, Sustrans, Croydon Amateur Boxing Club and Friends of Norbury Park to be on hand to answer questions about the proposals for the BMX track as well as the Boxing Club and new Friends Group.

We are delighted to be able to offer FREE weekly Cardio Tennis sessions for young men and women aged 14 to 25.  The 12 week course starts on Monday 29th February and runs from 7:15pm to 8:15pm on Monday evenings. You don’t need to be able to play tennis to join in this fun fitness session. In addition there will be three FREE one hour talks by local nutritionist Lisa Patient on how to eat well to stay fit and healthy.

The game is suitable for men and ladies of all ages so whether experienced or a novice pop in and say hello, have a look round, have a cup of tea and a chat and make some new friends. We also welcome social members and hold quiz nights, bingo, beetle drives and BBQ’s. Our season starts in April with an open day on 29^th starting at 2.30 pm. The aim of the Community Open Day is to open the space to all, especially local people in Norbury and Thornton Heath.  We aim to show what great potential this tranquil green space has for the community.  The community day will be part of a range of initiatives to encourage local people and others to engage with the space to become part of making this green area into an inclusive nature space and ensure it will become a valuable community asset, to be enjoyed by all.

World Book Day is a yearly celebration of children’s authors, illustrators, books and
most importantly a celebration of reading! Get into the spirit and dress up as your

At the beginning of the twentieth century an eccentric artist arrived in Croydon and painted pictures of many buildings and locations.

This talk will examine a number of these paintings, some illustrating lost scenes, and show their remarkable context in the history of Croydon.

John Hickman will deliver part two of this talk at Shirley Library and part one will be delivered in March with Carole Roberts at Norbury Library.

A couple of clean ups are taking place on Sunday 12th May.

Firstly the Friends of Norbury Hall Park will be cleaning up our park.   Meet by the large Craignish Avenue gate at 10.00 or find us in the park.  Or for those more green-fingered types, you are welcome to join our gardening group in tidying up our lovely borders.  (Just bring a pair of gardening gloves and a trowel).

Then at midday,   SERA, Norbury Park Residents' Association and Manor Farm Nature Space are joining together to organise a clean up of the Norbury Crescent and Manor Farm Rd areas, including the Manor Farm nature space itself.

Cllrs Shafi Khan & Leila Ben Hassel hold a monthly surgery on the first Saturday of the month.  While Norbury Library is closed, the surgery will be held at the above location.   Pollards Hill North is the first road past the library on the right walking towards Thornton Heath.

Our annual fireworks display and bonfire evening will be on Friday 8th November.

Tickets are on sale at the club from 2pm to 4pm each Saturday. Adult tickets are £5 in advance, or £6 on the evening. Children from 4 - 15 are £3 in advance or £4 on the evening. Under 4's are free.

The gates will open at 6:30pm and the display starts at 7:15pm. The bonfire will be lit after the fireworks are finished, and there will be plenty of food and drink on sale.

Don't delay, get your tickets soon as numbers are strictly limited this year.

To kick off the Love Norbury Spring Clean campaign, we are holding a clean up this Saturday.  See poster.  We will also be talking to local business owners, shoppers and other passers-by to discuss our campaign to tackle the issue of litter and fly tipping in Norbury.  Please come along and get involved.

Planting by Friends of Norbury Park of an oak tree donated by Norbury Park Councillor and this year’s Mayor, Sherwan Choudhury. It will be planted behind the stone trough near the Harefield Road entrance with the idea of giving the seating there some much needed shade in the years to come. Sherwan will be there as Mayor.

Norbury and Pollards Hill SNT is holding an informative street briefing aimed at preventing motor vehicle theft in our community.

What can you expect from this briefing?
We will discuss tips and tricks to prevent and deter thieves, as well as ways to protect your vehicle and belongings. Additionally, we will offer ways that motor theft can be reported to the police.

All welcome to this regular (1st Sunday of the month) session at 'Squirrel Park'.  We will be mowing, chopping down brambles, tidying up the borders and picking up litter.   Tools provided, although you are welcome to bring your own if you have them.  And the kids have a great time, too!

Following our recent 'Report it' walkabout, we will be repeating the exercise covering different roads within the SERA area.  We will be reporting flytips, potholes, dangerously overhanging branches etc via the Council's Love Clean Streets app.  If you are unsure about using the app, no worries, advice will be at hand!

Meet 9.30, corner Ederline Ave and Dunbar Ave.  As a reward for all the good work, we will be retiring to the tennis club (Ederline Ave) for our coffee morning (from 10.30 am till noon).
