It is with much sadness that we share the news that Cllr Maggie Mansell passed away on Saturday 5th January after a short illness.
Maggie represented Norbury as Ward Councillor for many years and worked closely with Love Norbury. She was a lovely lady, always willing to help. She was very supportive of Love Norbury and often joined in with many of our Love Norbury events and meetings as well as many of the other activities and events organised by other community groups and residents’ associations across Norbury.
Maggie will be dearly missed.
Our thoughts are with her family, friends and colleagues at this difficult time.
Rest In Peace Maggie.
To commemorate Maggie’s passing, a Book of Condolence has been opened in her memory. It will be open for contributions from Monday to Friday 10.00am – 4.30pm over the next couple of weeks at Steve Reed’s Office 908 London Road, Thornton Heath, CR7 7PE (109 bus stops outside).
It will also be open this Saturday 12th January, at Norbury Library, Beatrice Avenue, between 10.00am & 4.30pm.

Love Norbury was nominated for a 2017 Mayor of Croydon Civic Award in the category Voluntary Group of the Year. Some of the Love Norbury team attended the awards ceremony on Tuesday 17th October.
We were treated to a wonderful evening at the Hilton hotel and we are absolutely delighted to say that we WON!
We are officially Voluntary Group of the Year and we are literally over the moon.
After the ceremony Brenda presented the Mayor of Croydon with a beautiful bouquet of knitted flowers from the Norbury Knitters
We had an amazing time at the awards ceremony. There really are some inspirational people and groups in Croydon. We’d like to say a huge well done to all winners and finalists.
Here are some photos from a very memorable evening…
